BOLOGNAFIERE, the venue hosting FIT YOUR CAMPER, is located in the capital of the Emilia-Romagna region. The city and its surrounding area offer numerous historical, cultural, and natural attractions to explore. Here are some ideas for trips and visits to organize during the fair:
- Villa Amalia: This historic villa is located in the center of Erba and is surrounded by a beautiful park. The villa is an example of neoclassical architecture and often offers cultural events and art exhibitions. More info. The villa is only open on special occasions.
- Church of Santa Maria Nascente: This church dates back to the XNUMXth century and is an interesting example of religious architecture. The interior is decorated with frescoes and period works of art.
The historic center of Erba:
- Contrada Villincino – it is the fortified area of historic center of Erba, made up of restored stone houses and typical medieval cobbled streets. Also still visible ancient wash house and two towers located at the two entrances to the village. The village is located in the immediate vicinity of the Majnoni Park. 3,5 km from the fair. The perfect place to step back in time for a few hours.
The Lead Hole
From the municipality of Erba it is possible to head towards the Lead Hole, an imposing Jurassic cave recognized in 2007 by the Lombardy Region as a site of archaeological and environmental interest, of extreme importance from a geological point of view. The imposing cave, dug almost entirely in Majolica, shows itself with a majestic entrance (45 meters high, 38 meters wide) and conceals a labyrinth of tunnels still partly unexplored which extend for almost 400 metres. To get to the Hole of Lead, two itineraries are possible.
– The first starts from Piazza GB della Salle, a hamlet of Crevenna (Erba), where it is possible to leave the car and then take the asphalt road from which to then follow the signs for “Buco del Piombo”. After reaching Cascina Mirabello (via the asphalt road) and following a paved mule track, you pass the Alpina restaurant and then Cascina Zoccolo. A long staircase, made up of 150 steps of unequal height, leads to the entrance of the cave after an hour's walk.
– The second option, shorter but more demanding than the previous one, starts again from Piazza GB della Salle and winds along a path that starts from via dei Castani (Trattoria Cà Nova) and continues up to the entrance of the cave.
Monte Barro Park is one of Europe's most important areas for nature conservation. This regional park is a popular destination for nature lovers and hikers. You can hike on well-marked trails and enjoy breathtaking views of the lake district.
It is distinguished by an easily accessible natural environment, in which, on a relatively small surface, numerous elements of naturalistic, historical, archaeological and landscape interest are concentrated. The territory of the park is mainly made up of woods, meadows and cliffs, which host an exceptional floristic biodiversity, with over 1.000 species of plants in less than 700 hectares. The extraordinary richness of this small mountain is determined by various factors, including its belonging to the Insubric district, the Pleistocene glaciations and the nature of the calcareous-dolomitic substrate.
Monte Barro, entirely included in the regional park of the same name, is a 922 m high dolomitic limestone relief, completely isolated from the surrounding mountains and directly overlooking the high plain, and constitutes a true outpost of the Lombard Prealps towards the Po Valley.
This small lake is located near Erba and is ideal for a relaxing day. You can take a walk around the lake, rent a boat or just sit by the water.

Walk that runs along Lake Pusiano
The first starts from Lido di Moiana in Merone, where the Limonaia restaurant is located, to end at Punta del Corno beach in Rogeno. You travel a path in the Casletto woods decorated with wooden sculptures of animals and fairy-tale characters that is called its own The path of the spirit of the forest in Canzo.
The walk is panoramic and runs along the lake for all of its 2 kilometers and is certainly capable of arousing children's curiosity thanks to these natural works created by Maurizio Chiamone.
Navigate Lake Pusiano
It is possible to navigate Lake Pusiano on board the Vago Eupili boat, a 12-meter catamaran powered by solar energy. This way you go around the lake accompanied by volunteers from the Pro Loco and the ecological guards of the Valle Lambro Park to admire and learn about the beauty of the area from another perspective. In Como, not far from Erba, you can visit the Silk Museum, which offers an overview of the history and production of silk in the region. About 15 kilometers from Erba, the city of Como is famous for its beautiful lake and charming old town. You can take a walk along the lake, visit the Como Cathedral and explore the shops and restaurants of the city center.
On the shores of the lake, the small pantheon dedicated to Alessandro Volta houses the instruments of his first experiments, testifying to Como's deep connection with light. Inside the city walls, Como reveals its charm among the porticoes, the rationalist architecture of the 1930s and the Duomo, with its late-Gothic façade and dome. Finally, there is no better way to admire Como than from its lake: just take a boat to reach Cernobbio, Bellagio, Menaggio or Tremezzo and let yourself be enchanted by the panorama.
Situated on the tip of a peninsula on Lake Como, the picturesque village of Bellagio is famous for its scenic beauty. Its narrow streets, lush gardens and breathtaking views make it an ideal destination for a day trip.
In Bellagio, you can immerse yourself in the beauty of the parks of Villa Serbelloni and Villa Melzi. The first overlooks the promontory where the lake divides into two branches; the second, instead, is a true open-air museum, dotted with sculptures and architecture. For lovers of maritime history, an unmissable stop is the Museum of Navigation Instruments. Over two hundred instruments are on display here – including sundials, astrolabes and marine chronometers – which tell the story of centuries of orientation, exploration and discovery.
Finally, Bellagio is also the perfect place for a simple walk along the lakeside. Walking along the shore, you can admire the two shores of the lake framed by the spectacular embrace of the Prealps and the Alps that stand out to the North.
